Tomatoes in August

After a big round of canning and sewing we ended up falling behind on the garden. It seemed that every tomatoe out there ripened all at once. The girls and I got out there and picked everything. We filled an entire wheelbarrow!

That's a lot of tomatoes!!

And, of course, another post that makes me homesick to taste a fresh-grown tomato, grown in REAL soil, with real worms in the soil, the kind of soil, you can get down on your hands and knees and dig in and scoop up to smell it.

That wonderful northeast soil, that grows tomatoes that taste like a tomato.
