She makes it look SEW easy!

A couple of weeks ago Maya Rae took a day long quilting class. She has been interested in sewing for a long time now but hasn't done any machine work. After this class she got on me about getting my machine rolling for her. We took it to the Sewing Machine Doctor for an (expensive but much needed) tune up.
As soon as it was ready Maya set to sewing up a storm. She is such a natural!

She makes it look

My head!

Here is me right now.
I feel older and fatter than I look.....thank goodness for small blessings.

Jody at home

This is reg ol Jody stikin up a little mus-ACK before dinner out with his wife :)

First Hike!

Jody and I got out for our first weekend hike. It was very nice out but also very wet. The trails were too wet to walk so we spent most of the time in a huge field.
Oh- I was feeling soooo out of shape and FAT after a winter of nothing but moving our housing around.
Handsome husband. :)
I am really looking forward to getting some really good hiking in.

Life is a ball

The girls and I were walking through Ithaca after we picked Vayda from school one day when we passed this cement ball near the parking garage.
To me this is ART! So I made the girls strike a pose and I broke out the camera. :)

ommmhhhhh

What about Elanee???

Elanee is still at Bosch Bahai School in Santa Cruz. She will be there till Dec '10.
We keep in touch via ten minute phone calls and Face Book.
Here are some shots of what she is up to....

Oh Deer

This is the view across the street.

Whats Vayda doing?

Vayda is never at home these days as she is going to school in Ithaca. Most nights shes not even home till after 9 pm. When she is home she hits Face Book or the phone ASAP....then out the door to friends' houses. Here are some shots of her life. Now keep in mind that I had to steal most of these images off of Face Book in order to post them here. I dont see MOST of these moments.
Heres some school...

Friends houses....
Face Book time.... (this would be late at night after school)

This is school...

school...
home again for a moment...
I miss my kid. :(

More outside time

More time outside...play group!

Big Feeder

Maya got inspired to feed the birds. She went to work and I took pics.

Baking!!!

Maya Rae baked cookies all by herself. She did everthing all by herself. It was great watch.
They looked great & they smelled great. BUT they tasted HORRIBLE!!! LOL. She had put a full cup of baking soda in them ...ick. Oh well. She had a great attitude about it.

Outside Play

Finally~ the weather is shifting and we can play outside again! Yippee. Here is Maya (with her darn tounge hanging out of her mouth...grumble ;) playing with her friends in Ithaca.

Last Skate

The final skate. At the beginning of this season Maya Rae had never skated before. With the help of friends on the ice she worked to master the skill. Here on her final skate she is AWESOME!

Now her new skates will have to sit in the closet till next winter when they will undoubtably be way too small. ;)

Ayyam-i-Ha cookies

On the last day of Ayyam-i-Ha Vayda stayed up nearly all night long baking cookies for all of her class mates......thats all 100 kids at her school!

She made 9 point star sugar cookies for them all.
This was very sweet and she got rave reviews.
