May & Jeff's wedding

On Sunday this weekend we attended a wedding. Well actually we got stuck in traffic and missed the ceremony. We did make it for the reception though.
May and Jeff are Baha'is in Ithaca and family friends. The reception was fun with great food, friends and music. We were so happy to see the happy couple. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon. May did such a wonderful job with the decorations and design. Plus- she used all compostable plates, forks and cups. Awesome. Definitely the "greenest" wedding I have ever attended....
and beautiful. LOVED IT! ;)

Elanee in Pleasantville

This weekend was a big weekend. Jody, Vayda, Maya Rae and I all piled into the ricky-ticky car and drove down state to Pleasantville.
The drive was safe and good but
SOOOOOOO HOOOOOOTTTT!
We would have taken my car but after the fender bender of a few weeks ago we cannot open the front passenger door. Jodys car is in good working order but unlike mine has no air conditioning. Woooo! Flipping HOT HOT HOT!! We were a melted wind blown wreck! The reason we made the trip was to see Elanee perform in "Annie Get Your Gun"
with the Mount Pleasant Community Theater group.

Grandma Rose (Jodys step mom) and Grand-daddy Mac (Jodys dad)
run the show. They opened their home to Elanee for the entire summer....They gave her dance lessons, acting lessons, voice lessons and a role in the production.Of course, Elanee was de-lighted to take advantage of these wonderful gifts. Saturday night's performance was the closing act. The music was wonderful and the acting was great. Top quality stuff. And- who knew....Elanee can really dance a jig!
At the end Rose got up front and said her Thank Yous to all of the actors and support people. We followed Rose, Mac, Elanee and the rest of the crowd to their cast party. That got late for Maya Rae who was falling asleep at the table so we had to scootch out but it was fun.
Good stuff.

Thanks to Mac and Rose for giving Elanee such a wonderfully fun and educational experience!
