On Friday we got our shipment of 30 chicks from Ideal Poultry in Texas. All are tucked in neat and tidy in a Tupperware tub on a kitchen shelf. They are chirpy and fluffy....just the way they are supposed to be. 
We will have the meat birds for 6 weeks and the hens for 2 yrs or so.

I just finished reading your blog; wow, I am so impressed with everything. I feel like such a slouch; you are where I wanted to be about 40 years ago. Congrats on all your successes, and your challanges. I felt like I was reading my friends' blog, I have some that are ardant homeschoolers and I am so happy that they are. Besides, we are all knitters and now we can meet more often so it helps to make outings for the kids, educationally.
